    DC-Licensed Attorney, Active member of the Bar of the District of Columbia

    Based in Washington, DC, Binta Robinson is a DC-licensed attorney, who is an active member of the Bar of the District of Columbia. Commanding an in-depth knowledge of and firsthand experience in patent examination in the area of biotechnology, Binta Robinson played a key role in the approval of more than 100 patents in her roles as a former patent examiner and later, a former primary patent examiner.

    A graduate of the biochemistry program at Spelman College, Binta Robinson conducted her senior thesis on the synthetic construction of biodegradable polymers. Also previously involved in studying infectious and genetic diseases, she has pursued a number of research opportunities, including summer research internships at the Harvard University School of Public Health and the University of California. Ms. Robinson was also one of several coauthors on a paper for the Journal of Paleopathology Monograph Publication and stands out as a past recipient of the Undergraduate Minority Access to Research Careers (UMARC) Honors Scholarship. She combines her scientific background with intellectual property experience as a former patent examiner, having graduated with her juris doctor from the George Washington University Law School.
